The arched villa
A steep sloping site next to the water were the dramatic conditions for this villa in Nacka. We chose to use cast-in-place concrete, divided on different levels that follows the slope. One of the fundamental ideas is the meeting between the lengthwise vertical concrete slabs and the arched shape of the building. A centrally placed concrete slab -the heart wall- stretches through the whole villa; from the entrance down to the pool area. The effect of this is that your eyes are immediately drawn to the beautiful view when you enter the building.
The client lives in Miami for a big part of the year and wanted the villa to have an international touch. The cast-in-place concrete is pigmented and does not need treatment neither inside nor outside. The sand colour was inspired by the shopping centre Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.
